Canadian Cow Goes For $1.2 Million
In November 2009, Missy, a 3 year-old dairy cow was sold for $1.2 million at Toronto's annual Royal Agricultural Winter Fair.
Missy is the second cow in Canada to hit the million dollar mark.
Missy is from Morsan Farms, near the town of Ponoka, in Alberta, Canada. She was bought jointly at the auction by two buyers, from the U.S. and Denmark. Due to her natural genetic superiority, she could have as many as 75 calves over the course of her life.

The oldest cow ever recorded in Western world was a cow named "Big Bertha" that died 3 months short of her 49th birthday on New Years Eve, 1993.
Big Bertha also holds the record for lifetime breeding as she produced 39 calves.
